3 days of sightseeing in Salzburg

Within three days you can explore lots of attractions in Salzburg! In the following are some advices for 3 perfect days in the city of Mozart.

The most famous tourist attraction is the landmark of Salzburg, the Fortress of Hohensalzburg. It is not far away from the centre, on the top of the local mountain, here you can enjoy the marvellous view.

Salzburg is famous for its small and sophisticated shops and cafés, especially the Getreidegasse is the perfect place for shopping. Afterwards you can enjoy a break with a cup of coffee.

Afterwards you should go for a visit at the Felsenreitschule. Since 1926 it is used for open air perfomances.

If you would like to have dinner, you should visit the Stieglkeller, it's famous for its pub garden with a marvellous view over the old town.

Start your next day with a relaxing breakfast at the Schlosswirt zu Anif and a walk through the woods. 

Beyond the centre there is Schloss Hellbrunn. Its setting is marvellous and the park with its waterplays and fountains are worth to see. After that you can go for a walk through the Salzburg Zoo.

After lunch at the restaurant Hellbrunn it's time to visit the centre of Salzburg.

After lunch you can go for a walk through the old town of Salzburg. You will pass the Salzburger Dom (cathedral of Salzburg). It's a baroquean cathedral with a hight of 81m. On the corner there is the 

DomQuartier Salzburg, which offers an insight into the baroque past of Salzburg.

Also interesting is the panorama museum, it is open daily and there you can have a look at Johann Michael Sattler's cyclorama of Salzburg.

Finally you end the day with a dinner at the Stieglkeller. If you would like to try something typically austrian, you should taste the Salzburger Nockerl and a cold beer.

On the third day attend the Stiegl-Brauwelt (Stiegl Brewery). You can learn something about the culutre and the traditional way of brewing. Beside that you will try different beers.

After the Stiegl Brewery you can go for a walk back to the old town of Salzburg an pass Mozart's birthplace.

At the House of Nature (Haus der Natur) is for everyone something! Since 1924 the museum has a various program. Beside the regional and international exibition, there's also a classic museum of natural science and a zoo department.

Afterwards you grand yourself a coffee and visit Konditorei Fürst, there you will get the originally Mozartkugeln.
